even more

Yet another, found a huge block of African Paduak, I love this wood, it has unusual dark bits here and there, this is a miniature incense holder, measures 2-1/2" from base to tip, bowl diameter is 7/8", top removes so something can be put inside.

Even more turnings

I'm as good as ready for the Miniatures Fair at the Penns Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield this Sunday April 3rd, so  been doing more on my lathe, here we have 3 apothecary jars based on an 18th century design, also a mortar and pestle, tallest jar is just a shade over 1" tall.
Thanks to my friend Debie Lyons for the idea of the jars.

another one

Hand carved young eagle owl, this one is in 1/24th scale, the bird itself measures 3/4" tall, in real life they can grow up to 30" tall, the case will be glazed and french polished, it will be on sale at the Sutton Coldfield Dolls House Fair on Sunday April 3rd.

fishy

Got to finish the cases off, but needed to take photo before I put the glass in place, 1/24th carp and 1/12th carp.
Lot more fish to put in cases before my next fair, fast running out of time though, so not a lot more will be added to my blog before the Sutton Coldfield fair on April 3rd.

still working

Still getting stock ready for the Sutton Coldfield Fair which is now only two weeks away!
Not sure what wood this is, but turned these this morning, they are solid, tops are not removable and they have been waxed, just thought I would try a few different shapes.
Tallest is 1-7/16" tall, smallest one is 1" tall.
Will be getting new stocks of wood in shortly, but for now want to use up what I have.

small wood turnings

Did a tad too much yesterday so resting up today and watching the cricket!
Turned these yesterday in what I think is black walnut, suitable for 1/24th scale, the small vase 2nd from the right is just 5/16" tall, photo is a bit lighter than in real life.
On sale on my website harvington.com on the 1/24th page, the set is available for £10.
Finished carving my 1/24th eagle owl last night and as soon as I have the case made will post a photo here, couple of days hopefully.

Am at it again

Am at it again, my latest range of mirrors, smallest is 1/24th scale measures just 1-1/4" tall, will be added to my website over the next couple of days. Also hope to add my latest fish taxidermy in the next day or so, just making the cases, again 1/24th scale will be accounted for.
Am supposed to be resting, but miniatures isn't hard work, is it !!!

Fancy Mirror

My latest creation, 1/12th scale mirror, tip to bottom is "2-1/2"

Am still off work, it's a bit of a downer but it does allows me a bit of time to work on my miniatures again and all being well I will be exhibiting at the Sutton Coldfield fair on April 3rd, more details on this fair can be seen at http://pmpfairs.homestead.com/
I have many new paintings and some new frames as well as many many other miniatures.

Taxidermy

New items for my miniature range, hog, giant bat, werewolf, steer, vampire rat and deer.
Few more new things on the way, but my main priority now is to paint and make stock, am quite hopeful of exhibiting at Stourport on May 1st.
The werewolf is shown here, a bit of work to do with the painting yet though.

A First

I have always stated that everything on my website has been made by myself, well that has now changed, my wife Pauline has and is now trying her hand at embroidery in 1/12th scale and the photo above shows her first effort, so I had better get it on the website jolly quick before I get into trouble.
